So I’m a girl … and I’m a geek … and I guess you probably guesed that much by the name of the blog haha!

A little explanation: For one reason or another I have always been interested in the stereotypical boy domain of computers and gaming. Not that there aren’t other female gamers out there … but the field is predominantly filled by guys. My current obsession is World of Warcraft which was introduced to me by my boyfriend Rich who also got me into playing Counter Strike: Source and all of the Final Fantasy games. When I was little I used love anything Nintendo and bought my own SNES (which I brought with me to England by the way) with my allowance money which I obtained by making my bed, loading and emptying the dishwasher, etc. After much begging and pleading I got a GameBoy and I’m sure my parents were very happy that they bought it on those long car trips that we used to take to visit my grandfather twice a year.For my 13th birthday I somehow convinced my Dad to buy me my N64 which he got me in the pretty ice-blue colour which I LOVED!

Since I was 8 years old we have always had a home computer. It was an old IBM which was being thrown out by the hospital where my Dad works in their computer room to help keep everything running. As an aside I went with him for Take Our Kids To Work Day and I STILL don’t exactly know what it is that he does. Back to my computer gaming history … even at the tender age of 8 I already knew how to load and run all of my DOS games (some of which can be found here) and my favorites included Commander Keen and Clyde’s Adventure. Even then I don’t think I would have considered myself a gamer … until I met The Sims. I have ALL of the expansion packs and played the game religiously. Imagine my excitement when The Sims 2 came out! This game brought me to the point where I found it hard to chose between going out with friends or playing the game! To this day I still play The Sims 2 from time to time when I decide to take a break from WoW haha!
