Documentary of the Day

There are all different kinds of geeky things that I do. I don’t fight it anymore, I just give in and embrace it! One of my biggest obsessions is probably watching anything and everything on the Discovery Channel and watching a documentary every night while falling asleep. Sometimes I watch the whole thing with great interest and sometimes I’m so tired that I can’t make it through before I drift off but the thing about bedtime every night is that I learn something. If you download poker and play, you will learn something every time you play, but it’s not the same thing.

I lean towards documentaries about ancient civilizations mainly because as someone intersted in Psychology, the drives and practices during ancient times really fascinate me. I also enjoy any deep sea, shipwreck sort of documentaries because I love seeing things uncovered that have been left untouched for many years.

My current favorite is called Burying King Tut. There are 2 links there for anyone interested in watching. It talks about why King Tut’s death must have been unexpected and perhaps suspicious because of the rush job or a burial which was extremely uncommon of royal mummifications and burials of that dynasty. As an added bonus, you get to see how a mummification is done!! Coolest thing ever!!
