Don’t Ban Bingo!
Everyone knows what it’s like to be part of a small fundraiser right? Remember when you were a kid and you had to sell cookies for brownies, or chocolate bars. I remember bottle drives and raffles for my softball team and bingo games for the church youth group. Now these things are on a very small scale but for some small charities, they have the same goal of raising money and not much more starting funds than my softball team had.
Since small charities often don’t have alot of money to start up their fundraisers with, they need to think of something that will take what they do have and make it go a long way. They often don’t have the means to buy permits for large events or to pay for products to sell. Bingo has often been a way for the smaller charities to get the results their looking for and giving the community an easy way to support them. Bingo for charity doesn’t have to mean the paper and dabber kind. Online bingo was another popular way for small charities to get their fundraising efforts out there without having to foot a massive bill that would eat into the funds raised. Unfortunately there was recently a law passed banning this form of fundraising and it’s really having a detrimental effect on those small charities that don’t have alot of captial to start with. This is a bad thing for them and the causes that they’re trying to make money for
