I am happy to announce that I am now a proud owner of a SOCOM:Confrontation beta key after only an hour of trying. I started trying to just LOAD Eurogamer at 3:45pm since the keys were set to release at 4pm and all I was page timeouts and a half loaded site. Finally got it up and tryng to log in was a whole other ball game!! I never, ever, ever want to see “500 Internal Server Error” again in my life … ever!

Now, at 5pm, I am still trying to get another key for L33tz0r’s PS3 (we each have one) and it appears as though there are still roughly 2000 keys left for grabs if anyone else wants one too. But judging by the current state of the site, you’re still going to have trouble.

Just to increase my chances … and because I’m an uber-geek … I tried loading the site in both Firefox and IE. It looked like IE was going to take the prize at first since it seemed to load the main page fastest, but beyond that page it just kept getting the errors while Firefox ultimately got me my key. I’m not sure if this is just chance or if it’s actually another reason to hate on Microsoft … I’m a Firefox fangirl anyway

Anyway, L33tz0r and I (if I can ever get the second key) are looking forward to telling you all about the beta as soon as we start playing! Good luck anyone still trying for a key!!
